Senate Bill 19 — Prisoner Review Board Reform (Signed Law, 2025)

What it does:

Senate Bill 2201 — Contraband Transparency in Prisons

(Signed Law, effective July 1, 2026)

What it does:

This law requires the Illinois Department of Corrections to collect and publish detailed annual data on contraband (what enters facilities, how, and disciplinary responses), substance-use treatment participation, emergency medical responses, hospitalizations, and naloxone use inside state prisons.

 

Why it matters:

Improves public transparency on conditions inside IDOC facilities — a critical step toward data-driven reform.

House Bill 2546 — Expanded Parole Review for Young Offenders

(Public Act 104-0233, 2025)

What it does:

Allows people who were under age 21 at the time of their offense to file earlier parole review petitions and sets deadlines for the Prisoner Review Board to act.

Creates more structured opportunities for younger people serving long sentences to request parole consideration under defined timelines.

House Bill 2367 — Sentence Credit Reform

(Introduced 2025 – Pending)

What it would do:

Amends the Illinois Unified Code of Corrections so that every day served in prison counts more directly as credit against the sentence and requires the Department of Corrections to recalculate release dates under this system once effective.

This service does not involve direct messaging, personal accounts, or unmoderated communication.

 

Do you offer services for victims of violence?

Yes. The Purple Crown Subscription provides professional, discreet support specifically for victims of domestic violence, gender-based violence, and sexual crimes, including offender status updates, safety resource coordination, personal affairs buffering, and curated social service referrals --designed to enhance safety, reduce stress, and restore a sense of control.
